Favourite cyclist's cafes across the Dales

No ride across Yorkshire is complete without a solid mid-route refuel and/or a post ride Coffee. Here is my guide to some of the best cycling friendly cafes around Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales, not necessarily in order of preference, but all featuring proper coffee, good food, and great locations.

Our No 1 cafe in Skipton. Owned and run by Kane, a keen local cyclist. The cafe is a popular spot for many local and visiting cyclists, including the occasional world champ and Olympic medallist. The Tv is often on showing live or re-runs of cycling races, so a good spot to catch up on the TDF! There's a few bits of cycle memorabilia including  a bike belonging to the legendary Sir Bradley Wiggins!

Kane now imports and roasts his own beans on-site, so there is often a strong aroma of coffee roasting. Keep a look out for the super-friendly shop dogs George and Bob!

Kilnsey Trout Farm, Kilnsey

Situated by the stunning Kilnsey Crag about 2 miles north of Grassington, this is a poplar cafe stop in the stunning Wharfdale valley.

It has plenty of seating space indoors and out, space to lock up your bikes.

There's a good menu ranging from posh nosh to functional cyclist favourites.

Shed 24, Hellifield Station

Situated on the railway station platform in Hellifield, between Skipton and Settle, this is now a firm favourite with local cyclists.

There's a great menu, cheap prices, a friendly welcome, and if you are lucky you might catch a passing steam train as its stopping off spot for steam specials

Definitely worth a visit. (Closed Sunday and Mondays)
